ATLANTA (WRBL) — The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is suspending lane closures on Georgia interstates and state routes for the fourth of July travel period.
GDOT says lane closures will begin on July 3 at 12:00 p.m. and continue through July 6 at 10:00 p.m. The suspension of construction-related lane closures hopes to ease travel congestion, reduce delays and increase safety for drivers.
Travel data from 2024 shows heavy traffic should be expected on July 3 and July 6 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
