Man dead after being hit by car on Oliver Wheat Road in Livingston Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Louisiana State Police are looking into a crash that killed a man late Saturday night.

Troopers responded to the scene shortly before 10:45 p.m. on June 28 along LA 63 near Oliver Wheat Road. LSP said a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe crashed into a pedestrian, identified as Matthew Migliore, 47, of St. Amant.

According to LSP, Migliore was walking north in the northbound lane of LA 63 when he was hit by the Tahoe. Migliore was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but later died. The driver of the Tahoe was properly restrained and was not injured.

LSP said impairment is unknown at this time. Toxicology samples were taken from both individuals and will be submitted for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
