CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Firefighters worked to put out smoke coming from Garinger High School in east Charlotte on Sunday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
Around 9 a.m., crews responded to the school on Eastway Drive for reports of smoke coming from the building. When they arrived, they saw smoke coming from a vent on top of the school.
Investigators determined it was an electrical issue that caused smoke inside one of the rooms.
Officials said there was no active fire and it did not extend to other parts of the building.
No injuries have been reported as firefighters continue to ventilate the building and the surrounding area.
