
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans has canceled the precautionary boil water advisory on Sunday, June 29 for a portion of the New Orleans east bank.
According to the SWBNO, A 30-inch water main break occurred Friday, June 28, causing the SWBNO to declare a precautionary boil water advisory. The break happened on the 2600 block of Upperline Street.
The SWBNO said bacteriological tests have confirmed that water in the area is now safe to drink and can be used for personal needs.
A limited area of Uptown New Orleans remains under the advisory. These include the 4900 to 5000 blocks of Loyola Avenue and the 2200 to 2500 blocks of Upperline Street.
Repairs are expected to be completed Sunday night.
