
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two people are dead following a reported shooting incident that occurred in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 28.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the shooting, which happened in the 500 block of Delery Street, had officers on scene, investigating, around 12:38 a.m.
On arrival, police say they found an unknown man down the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Another man was found elsewhere on the property, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead on scene.
The cause and details surrounding the shooting is still being investigated by police. Identities and causes of death for the victims will be released by the coroner’s office after their families are notified.
