FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man from Fresno was arrested after officers allegedly found him in possession of thousands of dollars worth of illegal fireworks on Friday, the Fresno Police Department said.
Officers arrested a man at a home in Kerman on Friday. The man, who police said has ties to Fresno, was allegedly found in possession of 113 boxes of illegal fireworks.
The retail cost of the fireworks amounted to $21,440, according to officers. They also say this is the “largest single bust of illegal fireworks in the history of Fresno.”
The arrest was part of Operation “Snakes and Sparkles,” which is a collaboration between the police department and the fire department.
