Charlotte mom teaches her 9 kids 6 different languages

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Shylene Santiago is an INLIVIAN resident who’s raising her nine kids and teaching them Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese, Swahili, Japanese and French.

Santiago is also the author of bilingual children’s books to make language learning accessible for all families.

Queen City News Now talked with Santiago about how she started teaching her nine kids six different languages, and Cheron Porter with INLIVIAN about its mission for families and how it can inspire other residents.
