COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — For nearly three years, Trinity has waited for her forever family.
Rescued from the euthanasia list at Columbus Animal Control in 2022, the 7-year-old American Bulldog mix has spent 1,039 days under the care of Animal Ark Rescue. In all that time, not a single adoption application has been submitted for her.
Despite the long wait, Trinity remains upbeat — her caretakers describe her as “sweet as sugar, friendly as a summer day, and gentle as a lullaby.”
“She’s the kind of dog that makes you feel like everything’s going to be okay,” said a volunteer at Animal Ark Rescue. “She loves cuddles, gets along with other dogs and even cats, and just wants a quiet home where she can lay by your side.”
Weighing in at 57 pounds, Trinity is healthy, spayed, and ready for adoption. Staff say she is playful but low-maintenance, with an independent streak and a deep affection for back scratches and human company.
Her resilience has made her something of a mascot at the shelter — a quiet reminder of both the heartbreak and the hope behind rescue work.
“Trinity was pulled from death row, and she’s been nothing but grateful ever since,” said the rescue team. “We know there’s a family out there for her. She just hasn’t met them yet.”
Animal Ark Rescue is located at 2509 Manchester Expressway in Columbus. Those interested in adopting Trinity can email animalarkrescue@ymail.com or apply directly at animalarkrescue.com.
Trinity is dog-friendly, cat-approved, and full of love.
After 1,039 days of waiting, she’s more than ready for a second chance.
