(WEHT) — A missing juvenile and a man wanted on multiple felony warrants, including two active child molestation warrants, were found Thursday at a southern Indiana hotel.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a missing juvenile in the 5800 block of Rockford Drive on June 21. Authorities say their investigation led them to a hotel in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 41, on Thursday, where a female matching the missing juvenile’s description was seen opening a door for deputies before quickly closing it.

Authorities say a man inside the room, identified as Christopher Gamble, 26, eventually answered the door and was placed in handcuffs due to him having an active felony warrant out of Spencer County for child molestation.

Gamble reportedly told authorities there was no one else in the room with him. However, deputies were able to locate the juvenile hidden inside the ceiling tiles of the room.

Gamble was arrested and charged with assisting a criminal, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, parole violation and failing to register as a sex offender. He is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation and additional charges are expected to be filed as the case develops.
