IMPD: Man dead after shooting on Indy’s south side

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed on the south side of Indianapolis Thursday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 7:33 p.m. to the 5600 block of Rue Royale in response to a possible shooting in the area. IMPD said officers arrived on the scene and found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was initially reported to be in critical condition before IMPD confirmed shortly after 8 p.m. that he died. As of this article’s publication, IMPD has not shared any suspect information. No other information was immediately available.
