Texas ranks 42nd in AI job anxiety among 50 states

DALLAS (KDAF) — Will AI take your job? If you’ve asked Google that question, you’re not alone –– thousands of Americans have done it. But which states do it the most? 

TRADESAFE surveyed over 1,000 Americans and used search trends from all 50 states to explore how fear and future uncertainty are fueling a career swap. 

Texas has the 42nd highest per capita concern for AI-related job anxiety, meaning they aren’t too worried about losing a job to artificial intelligence. Austin (20th) and Fort Worth (35th) are among the top cities that are concerned about AI job anxiety per capita, while Houston (49th), San Antonio (47th), and Dallas (38th) are the least concerned.

Overall, 43% worry AI or automation could replace their job, estimating it could happen within 9 years, on average.
