OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — An Oregon man has been hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle as he was in a crosswalk on Wednesday.
According to the Oregon Police Department, Gary Mead was walking at the intersection of 4th Street and Washington Street around 10 a.m.
He was hit by a vehicle driven by Nancy Swieter, of Oregon, who was turning east onto W. Washington Street.
Mead suffered what authorities classified as minor injuries, but was taken to OSF St. Katherine in Dixon for further evaluation.
Swieter was cited for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
