Meet-and-greet draws crowd to see ‘Pumpy’ progress

BRANDONVILLE – A meet-and-greet drew a crowd and some notable visitors to the Pumping Station Dam over the weekend.

The Pumpy Association, the group working to revitalize the once-legendary recreation area in East Union Township, organized the event.

Their trustees were on-hand and state legislators dropped by as well.

Senator David G. Argall and Rep. Tim Twardzik both visited along with Denise Kapes from Rep. Dane Watro’s office.

The Association has been working with the Borough of Shenandoah to bring the area back to life.

Dave Sarno told the Sentinel back in 2023 that the group envisions the Pumpy becoming a “Sweet Arrow [Lake] of the north.”

The lake, formerly a water source for Shenandoah Borough, is still owned by the borough. Council has supported the endeavor, as have various councils of government locally.
