Former BRPD officer indicted on kidnapping, malfeasance in office charges

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A former Baton Rouge police officer was formally charged Wednesday in connection with the kidnapping of a woman in 2022.

Court records show an East Baton Rouge grand jury indicted Wade Hill, 43, on charges of second-degree kidnapping and malfeasance in office.

Hill was arrested and placed on administrative leave after allegedly kidnapping a woman and touching her inappropriately while on duty July 8, 2022. According to police documents, the victim was driven to several places before being taken to his Highland Road apartment. She was allegedly kept in the apartment for one hour before being dropped off.

Hill was fired in September 2022.

Two women filed separate lawsuits in federal court against BRPD, former BRPD Chief Murphy Paul, Hill, and the city in 2023.
