ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – McMurry University has raised nearly $23 million in just one year, marking the highest fundraising total in the university’s 102-year history.
This record surpasses the previous benchmark of $15.2 million in 2022 and comes at a time when McMurry celebrates its centennial and welcomes its 11th president, Dr. Lynne Murray.
“This achievement reflects the strength and stability of McMurry University,” said Murray. “It affirms that our community believes in our vision to expand opportunities for students and strengthen the university’s impact. It’s a clear sign that we are building something meaningful together.”
These funds will be used to support students, promote academic excellence, invest in faculty, and upgrade athletic facilities, thereby preparing the university for future growth.
“Our donors are investing in unprecedented ways, showing confidence in McMurry like never before,” said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Mike Hutchison. “Their support isn’t just about dollars — it’s a belief in our students, faculty, and the transformational opportunities that define the McMurry experience.”
With all three past years setting record fundraising, leaders say McMurry University is rising with purpose.
“Lifted by the generosity and faith of our community, we are shaping a future that honors the dreams and potential of every student who chooses to call McMurry home,” said Dr. Murray.
