CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Authorities are searching for a juvenile who escaped custody Wednesday morning while attending a medical appointment in Charlotte.
According to the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the juvenile, identified as Alberto P., fled from staff at around 10:30 a.m. on June 25. The escape occurred at Atrium Pediatrics, located at 13357 Steelcraft Parkway.
Alberto was in custody at the Cabarrus Juvenile Detention Center for adult charges of fleeing to elude arrest and had been taken to the clinic for medical care. Officials have not released details on how exactly the escape happened, but said they are actively investigating the incident.
A recent photograph of Alberto has been released to help the public identify him.
Authorities urge anyone who sees Alberto P. or has information about his whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
