The first day of early voting for democrats came on a day when the feels-like temperatures were above 100 degrees. However, voters told DC News Now that it did not stop them from casting their ballots.
“It’s that important,” Margie Wheedleton said. “If we don’t vote, we don’t have a right to complain.”
Voters of both parties have large slates of candidates to choose from.
Donna Buffington said what influenced her vote was which candidate could best combat the Trump administration.
“Anything that will help bring democracy to us,” she said. “To stand up against our current administration to show that they’re on the wrong side of history.”
