LOUISIANA, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — R&B icons Brandy and Monica have announced their first co-headlining ‘The Boy Is Mine’ Tour.
The duo officially announced their tour on Tuesday, June 24. They will take off on a 24-city arena tour, scheduled from October 16 to December 6. Leading up to the announcement, there was widespread speculation after Ticketmaster briefly posted and then removed the tour information a month earlier. However, many fans noticed the post, leading to significant excitement on social media.
“The Boy Is Mine” is named after Monica and Brandy’s hit single, released in 1998. The song achieved massive success, reaching the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 13 weeks. Ultimately, it earned both Brandy and Monica their first Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Throughout their careers, both artists have enjoyed significant commercial success. The tour will feature some special guests, including Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and American Idol season 23 winner Jamal Roberts.
If you’re in Shreveport, there are two convenient options nearby. The duo will perform at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Friday, December 5, starting at 8:00 p.m. They will also perform at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 6, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
