Woman shot, killed during dispute with neighbor at Abilene duplex

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A woman was shot and killed during a dispute with her neighbor at a north Abilene duplex Tuesday morning.

Police say first responders found a 60-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound in the yard of a duplex on the 2300 block of N Danville Drive around 7:00 a.m.

The initial investigation revealed this woman, who has not been publicly identified, was shot and killed by her neighbor during an altercation that escalated, according to police.

KTAB and KRBC crew members observed police took a man and woman, both undetained, from the duplex in an unmarked vehicle to a secondary location.

Police took a picture of the front and back of the man’s hands before they got inside.

North Danville Drive is shut down at the Ambler Avenue entrance to the Winters Freeway as the investigation continues.

No formal charges have been filed at this time, and neither the victim’s or suspects’ identities have been released, but police say they are related to each other.
