ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) — Two months after being hit by a pickup truck in a Rockville parking lot, a 60-year-old man has died from his injuries, according to police.
The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said the incident happened on April 16 at around 12:30 p.m. at a parking lot in the 500 block of Dover Road. There, first responders had found that a white 2020 Ford F150 pickup truck had hit two pedestrians, one of whom was Shanming Wei.
MCPD said the pickup truck was trying to reverse into a loading bay when the driver lost control and hit Wei and another woman. They were loading items into the trunk of their car.
Wei was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on June 18.
The woman was also taken to the hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing.
