TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) reports that its agents have arrested a former corrections officer on Tuesday in connection to alleged child sex crimes.
The KBI reported in a press release on June 24 that its agents have arrested a 36-year-old former Cloud County Sheriff’s Office employee for child sex crimes. The former corrections officer turned himself in at around 4:35 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at the Republic County Sheriff’s Office where he was later arrested by the KBI.
The KBI said the man was arrested for 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. He allegedly possessed and distributed child pornography.
The former corrections officer reportedly served with the sheriff’s office until a search warrant was executed at his home in March 2025 in Cloud County. Law enforcement found evidence related to the child sex crimes investigation which was initially launched following a tip submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
