Hiring our Heroes summit aids veterans and spouses’ careers

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes organization is helping veterans and their families get on their feet.

Hiring Our Heroes is a nonprofit group on a mission to help military members and their families find meaningful careers.

This event is for transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, and caregivers of wounded warriors.

It will help prepare them for jobs and connect them with employers hiring for jobs in their area and across the country.

On June 25, they will host the Amplify workshop, which is a military spouse-specific program. Then, on June 26, there will be a Career Summit and Hiring Fair for everyone connected to the military.

The Career Summit will include panel discussions, resume help, free professional photos, and resources like LinkedIn training and information about job programs.

The Amplify workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 25, and the Career Summit and Hiring Fair will take place the next day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Both events will be held at the BUFF Event Center, located at 155 Rickenbacker Ave, Barksdale AFB, LA.
