SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Feeding Hills woman pleaded guilty on Friday in Springfield federal court to a more than $19 million bank fraud conspiracy.
Charging documents stated that 61-year-old Christine Gendron of Feeding Hills was a certified public accountant working as a financial manager for JLL Realty Developers, LLC (JLLRD). Gendron worked alongside her sister, Jeanette Norman, and brother-in-law, Louis Masaschi, who allegedly served as partners in dozens of companies, including JLLRD.
Gendron reportedly conspired with Masaschi and, allegedly, Norman to defraud multiple financial institutions and a commercial lender, located at properties in Springfield, East Longmeadow, and Enfield, Conn. Gendron and her co-conspirators allegedly provided false and fraudulent financial information to obtain loans for their companies. This included false rent rolls and forged lease agreements.
The documents further stated that after receiving the loans, Masaschi and, allegedly, Norman and their companies, made some or no payments and eventually defaulted on the loans. This resulted in significant losses to the financial institutions and commercial lenders, totaling over $19 million.
Gendron pleaded guilty on Friday to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud. On April 22, 2025, Masaschi pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and two counts of wire fraud.
Gendron is scheduled for sentencing on September 30. Masaschi is scheduled for sentencing on July 23. Norman has pleaded not guilty and is pending trial, scheduled for October 2025.
