DOLTON, Ill. (WGN) — A deadly crash involving a motorcyclist along the Bishop Ford Freeway caused some road closures early Tuesday morning.
The crash unfolded just before 3 a.m. in the outbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Freeway near Sibley Boulevard, near the border of Calumet City and Dolton, according to Illinois State Police troopers.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling along I-94 when they struck a vehicle.
The driver of the motorcycle suffered significant injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not yet identified the driver killed and an investigation into the crash is now underway.
Because of the crash, troopers shut down all southbound lanes of I-94, between Sibley Boulevard and Dolton Avenue in Calumet City.
