BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Crystal Rogers’ family and friends are back in a Warren County courtroom, hopeful for more answers.
On Tuesday, the second trial connected to the disappearance and presumed death of Crystal Rogers began.
Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson are both on trial in Bowling Green—moved from Nelson County due to pretrial publicity.
Houck is charged with complicity to commit murder and tampering with evidence.
Lawson faces conspiracy to commit murder and tampering charges.
Crystal Rogers, a Bardstown mother, was 35 when she was last seen by her then-boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on July 3, 2015.
According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Hock, her boyfriend at the time, said he went to bed alone, and Rogers allegedly stayed up on her phone.
That was the last time Rogers was reportedly seen alive.
Prosecutors say he helped plan the murder and covered it up. The trial is expected to last two to three weeks.
Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom.
Last month, Lawson’s father, Steven Lawson, was convicted on similar charges. He’s facing 17 years in prison, with sentencing set for Aug. 6.
