UPDATE 6/22/25: As of 9:50 p.m. Saturday night, Rocky Mountain Power has lifted the Public Safety Shutoff and restored power to all affected customers.
CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4)
The Public Safety Power Shutoff Event is in effect in areas including parts of Beaver, Marysvale, Parowan, Cedar City, New Harmony, and Enterprise. Power lines and other equipment have been de-energized, with power expected to be restored by noon Sunday, pending conditions.
A temporary Community Resource Center is available to customers for charging devices, staying cool and accessing other amenities. It is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, or until power has been restored, at The Heritage Center, 105 North 100 East, Cedar City, Utah.
“Protecting the safety of our customers and the communities we serve remains our number one priority,” said Pete Singh, Rocky Mountain Power incident commander in a press release. “As we move into initiating a Public Safety Power Shutoff, our crews are ready to patrol lines, make repairs, and restore power as soon as conditions safely allow.”
Rocky Mountain Power urges customers to follow local public safety agency recommendations, have a plan and prepare an emergency kit. Customers requiring electricity for medical needs should contact Rocky Mountain Power Customer Service at 1-888-221-7070. Rocky Mountain Power encourages property managers and landlords to share this safety information with tenants who may be impacted.
