BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — LSU announced committee members tasked with searching for the university’s new president Friday.
Former President William F. Tate IV stepped down from the role on May 19 to take a job to lead Rutgers University. Tate described it as a “distinctly difficult decision” to leave LSU after four years. He made history as the first Black president in the Southeastern Conference in May 2021.
“It is my honor to introduce the members of the 2025 LSU Presidential Search Committee. This distinguished and engaged group brings deep expertise, institutional knowledge, and a shared commitment to identifying the next transformative leader for our university system,” LSU Board of Supervisors Chairman Scott Ballard said.
