(KRON) – A Macy’s loss prevention officer was assaulted while trying to detain a theft suspect last week, according to the Daly City Police Department.
At 8:28 p.m. on June 12, Daly City police officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at the Macy’s at the Serramonte Center. Loss prevention informed police that a suspect had shoplifted multiple jackets and fragrance tester bottles and attempted to flee the store.
According to DCPD, as the loss prevention officers were attempting to detain the suspect, they punched the asset protection detective in the forehead.
The suspect was identified as a 43-year-old San Francisco resident. The suspect, according to DCPD, was arrested and booked into the county jail on robbery charges.
