BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Families can enjoy a memorable day at the Juneteenth Jubilee in North Baton Rouge. There will be live music, cultural performances, tasty food and fun activities for everyone.
The extravaganza is on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jewel J. Newman Community Center. A mural will be dedicated to honor the late Kip Holden, the former mayor of Baton Rouge.
“He was a former councilman in District Two, like myself. So we wanted to do something to celebrate him and his family’s legacy,” said current District 2 Council Member Anthony Kenney.
The celebration also features a performance from the “Cleve the 3rd Eye” music group and DJ ATwice.
