(WHTM) — Thousands of PPL Electric Utilities customers are without power as severe weather sweeps across Pennsylvania.
According to the company’s outage tracker, 3,375 customers are without power. More than 300 of those are in Lancaster County.
Chester County has the most customers without power at 1,234.
On Thursday, PPL said it was closely monitoring severe weather. It added more than 250 lineworker crews are ready to respond to outages when safe.
“The combination of high winds, lightning and rain could make for a powerful system to kick off the summer storm season,” said Christine Martin, president of PPL Electric Utilities. “PPL Electric wants customers to know that we are ready — we prepare year-round for severe weather and all its unpredictability. Our crews remain ready to work around the clock to help get customers back online as safely and efficiently as they can.”
Customers can report an outage at the company’s website or text “outage” to TXTPPL.
