BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A man and woman were shot early Wednesday morning on the south side of Bloomington.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were called to a home in the 4600 block of S. College Drive shortly after 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday after a reported shooting.
Deputies found a 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Both are expected to recover from their injuries with the female already released from the hospital.
Neighbors reportedly told deputies that they were awakened by the sound of gunshots and witnessed at least one subject fleeing the area in a vehicle. The sheriff’s department said the shooting is a targeted incident and said there is no threat to public safety.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting or the possible suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
