NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans District Attorney announced Tuesday, June 17 that a man was convicted for first-degree rape of a minor.
District Attorney Jason Williams said the victim told police about the rape while they were responding to a separate incident at her home. 51-year-old Osman Ulloa was arrested immediately after.
“They can’t speak up for themselves,” Williams said. “And so, we’ve got to realize that that means all of us, members of the media, members of the community, landlords, teachers, coaches, anyone who comes into contact with a young person and you see signs of abuse, please do your part so that we can do ours.”
The conviction brings a sentence of life in prison without parole.
