MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – The intermittent closures on Interstate 55 northbound in Madison have been postponed to next week due to rain in the forecast.
Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) said the closures will take place in 30-minute intervals between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. for five nights, beginning Monday, June 23 until Friday, June 27.
The closures will take place in the northbound lanes of I-55 at the State Route 463 interchange in Madison. Crews will hang beams for the new Reunion Parkway bridge over I-55 northbound during the closure intervals.
During the closure intervals, drivers should slow down, anticipate a stop in traffic and if necessary, seek an alternate route. Warning signs will be in place leading up to the work to alert motorists of the temporary closures.
