BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Port Allen that occurred last month.
Sheriff Jeff Bergeron with the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (WBRSO) says Johnell Joseph, 36, was arrested on an active warrant June 16.
Joseph was booked into the West Baton Rouge Detention Center, where he remains in custody. A bond has not been set.
Just before 8 p.m. on May 30, WBRSO deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at a business off of Lobdell Highway (LA 415). During the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect, later identified as Joseph, entered the business, took out a handgun, and demanded money from the cashier. He then left the area with an undisclosed amount of money.
