SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A Slidell man has been arrested following a drug bust that happened in the area on Thursday, June 12.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the narcotics division along with Homeland Security Investigations and the United States Postal Inspection Service, were investigating a recent influx of illegally obtained and distributed tapentadol pills.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on a home in the 62000 block of Willie Mearis Street in Slidell. STPSO detectives say that during the search, they recovered over 4,000 tapentadol pills and over $900 in cash, believed to be from drug sales.

31-year-old Wilfred Cousin was also arrested as a result of the investigation and was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on charges of possession with the intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession of a schedule I CDS and transactions involving drug proceeds.
