This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post with more information as it becomes available.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The person who was shot during the “No Kings” protest in downtown Salt Lake City Saturday night has died in the hospital, Salt Lake City Police announced in a press conference Sunday.

The victim was a 39-year-old man. Further details on the victim will be released later today, per SLCPD.

SLCPD also announced that another man, Arturo Gamboa, is in custody after witnesses say he had an AR-15 at the protest. A person acting as security shot at him three times, hitting him once, while also hitting the 39-year-old victim in the crossfire.
