RACELAND, La. (WGNO) — A man died as a result of a car crash in Raceland Friday, June 13.
According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. and resulted in the death of 65-year-old Stephen Armand of Grand Isle.
LSP said a Ford F-150 was traveling west on Highway 182 behind another vehicle as it approached an intersection. A Chrysler Voyager, in which Armand was a passenger, was stopped at the intersection, preparing to turn left.
As the vehicle in front of the Ford slowed to turn right onto Highway 307, the Ford attempted to pass it while in the intersection. During the pass, the Chrysler began its left turn and was struck by the passing truck.
The driver of the Chrysler and Armand were transported to a local hospital. Armand later died of his injuries.
