SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Rain has been rather limited across the ArkLaTex on Friday. It appears that this will remain the case this weekend and next week.
Severe weather & flood worries? The ArkLaTex will be under the influence of a weakness in the upper-level high pressure that extends across the southern half of the country. This will allow at least a chance of a few isolated to scattered thunderstorms to continue through the weekend into the beginning of next week. Severe weather is looking unlikely during the next ten days.
Worry level 2: Since we do have a chance for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms during the next few days, and it’s looking doubtful that they will pose much of a risk of severe weather or flooding, I’m keeping my level of weather worry at 2 out of 10.
Tropical Weather Worries? The National Hurricane Center continues to show that tropical development in the Atlantic and Gulf is doubtful during the next week. Long-range models still show that the tropics could be quiet through the rest of June.
