ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Freeport cocaine dealer has been sentenced to spend 10 years in federal prison.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced the sentencing of Paris Walker, 39, on Friday.
In 2020, Freeport Police said an officer spotted Walker near the area of Cherry Avenue and Clark Street around 9:40 a.m. on Friday, February 7th.
Police took him into custody for driving with a suspended license, but later found a bag of cocaine in the area where he had been standing.
The Justice Department said between 2019 and 2020, Walker sold cocaine to a confidential informant working with the government.
At least 30 grams of cocaine was recovered in the investigation, authorities said.
