Forecast: Mostly clear for ‘strawberry’ moon; summerlike Wednesday on tap

TUESDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear with a full ‘strawberry’ moon. A bit warmer. Low: 62. 

A warm, mainly sunny, breezy and real summerlike day is on tap Wednesday afternoon with peak highs forecast to reach 90 degrees.

To date, both major airports have only logged one day of 90 degrees or warmer temperature so far and that occurred back in mid-May on the 15th. 

A shift in upper-level winds will deliver more of a west/southwest flow pumping in the warm air into Chicago and the Midwest.  

Beach Forecast 

There haven’t been many days this warm season that would be considered beach worthy, but Wednesday will definitely be a day that will draw a crowd of people as the July-level warmth is expected to reach area beaches.

Sun is strong this time of year, we’re only about 10 days from the Summer Solstice, the longest day. It will only take you 21 minutes to get sunburn without proper protection at 1pm, peak time. 

Wednesday highs across the U.S.

More than 289 million residents across the Lower 48 will see temperatures of 80 degrees or warmer and more than 57 million residents topping 90 degrees or warmer. The Lower 48 average of 83.6 degrees is one of the warmest days so far in 2025.
