According to New Castle County Police, the teens were snooping around the parking lot, looking into vehicles while wearing gloves and masks.
When police arrived, they found one of the teenagers attempting to hide between two cars.
All of the teenagers were located, and police say they were all wearing disguises to conceal their identities.
Police were able to recover a screwdriver and a USB cable, which are tools commonly associated with vehicle break-ins, say police.
Police also obtained surveillance footage from the area, further linking the teens to the incident.
The juveniles’ ages, 13,14, 14, 15, 16, were all transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, and charged with:
- One felony count of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.
- One felony count of possession of burglary tools.
- One felony count of conspiracy second degree.
- One violation of criminal trespass third degree.
The 14-, 15-, and 16-year-old juveniles were arraigned and transported to a local detention center after failing to post the $11,050 secured bail.
The other 14-year-old juvenile was also arraigned and taken to a local detention center after failing to post $8,050 secured bail.
The 13-year-old juvenile was arraigned and released on $9,050 secured bail.
