It is with heavy hearts that the City of Anniston announces the passing of our beloved Anniston Fire Department Chief, Jeff Waldrep.
Chief Waldrep dedicated over 30 years of his life in faithful service to the people of Anniston. A true leader, mentor, and guardian of this community, he stood as a pillar of strength and compassion within our fire department and throughout our city.
Following a recent and major heart attack, Chief Waldrep fought valiantly—but today, we mourn his loss. His unwavering commitment to public safety, his fierce loyalty to his fellow firefighters, and his deep love for Anniston will never be forgotten.
We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Chief Waldrep’s family, his brothers and sisters in the Anniston Fire Department, and all who were privileged to serve alongside him.
May we honor his legacy by continuing the work he so passionately led—protecting and caring for one another with courage, dignity, and selflessness.
