The traffic stop occurred on Sunday, June 8. After speaking with the vehicle’s occupants and conducting a search, investigators said officers located a substantial amount of marijuana inside the vehicle.
The driver, Tayvion Pope, 22, of Vicksburg; and passenger, Robert Ward, 24, of Port Gibson; were both arrested at the scene. Police said Pope was already out on bond for a previous possession charge.
Both individuals were arraigned in Vicksburg Municipal Court. Pope’s bond was set at $300,000, and Ward’s bond was set at $200,000.
