Four arrested in Vernon Parish on assault and battery charges

LEESVILLE, La. (WNTZ) — Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announced multiple recent arrests made between June 6 and June 8, including individuals charged with domestic abuse battery, simple assault, and outstanding warrants.

On June 6, Ben Weaver, 43, of Robeline, was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant. Weaver remains in the Vernon Parish Jail, and bond has not been set.

On June 8, deputies arrested Sareel Cain Spencer, 24, of Pitkin, on one count of domestic abuse battery. Spencer remains in custody without bond.

Kylie Ortiz, 19, of Rosepine, was also arrested June 8 and charged with one count of simple assault and one count of simple battery. Ortiz’s bond was set at $2,562, and she remains jailed at this time.

Also on June 8, Rusty Lee Kay, 33, of Anacoco, was arrested and charged with one count of domestic abuse battery. No bond has been set, and Kay remains in custody.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate these incidents.
