Monday, a weak front will settle into place leading to increased rain chances. It arrives in the afternoon, so we will see very toasty and humid conditions for the first half of the day. By the afternoon, scattered storms will form up along the front. One or two of them may be strong or severe, with strong winds, hail, and a tornado possible. Overall, the severe threat remains low for Acadiana.
In the tropics, no tropical development is expected through the next 7 days as dry air and wind shear prevents any tropical development from occurring.
The rest of the upcoming week will see stormy periods each day as the weak front stalls across the region. This will lead to widespread heavy rainfall potential over 2 inches for many areas. The good news with the rain is that temperatures will be a bit cooler, with highs only in the upper 80s.
