RICH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night in a fiery crash caused by striking a cow on a state highway in the Monte Cristo Range area.
Rich County deputies and Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) responded to the accident on State Route 39, near mile post 53, just after 10 p.m. on June 7th.
The victim, a 27-year-old male, was riding with a group of other motorcyclists upon striking the cow, which immediately caused his vehicle to catch fire. Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the man was killed on impact.
His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
Utah Highway Patrol is undertaking the investigation.
