SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Shreveport Police Department Sex Crimes detectives have arrested a local man following a reported sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours of June 3, 2025.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Lister Drive about a reported sexual assault.
Following an investigation, detectives identified Kron White as the suspect. White was taken into custody and charged with Second Degree Rape.
Under Louisiana law, Second Degree Rape is defined as having intercourse without the lawful consent of the victim in addition to another added circumstance.
This includes situations where the victim is unable to resist due to force or threats of physical violence, leading them to reasonably believe that any attempt to resist would be ineffective.
It could also apply when the victim cannot resist or comprehend the nature of the act due to an abnormal mental condition or because they have been unknowingly drugged.
If convicted, White faces up to 40 years in prison.
In a statement, the Shreveport Police Department says it remains committed to thoroughly investigating all allegations of sexual assault.
