By rssfeeds-admin ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – Rapides Parish deputies are currently responding to an active standoff situation following reports of gunfire at a residence in the 200 block of the Foxfire Subdivision.
According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call around 5 p.m. reporting shots fired at the location. When deputies arrived on scene, they observed an armed individual who retreated back into the residence and has not communicated with law enforcement since.
Negotiators and members of the SWAT team are currently on scene attempting to establish contact with the subject and bring the incident to a peaceful resolution.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area while the situation remains active. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
