Providence House in Shreveport gets new grant for homeless aid

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Providence House in Shreveport has been awarded a grant from the Community Foundation of Louisiana.

The homeless shelter has received a $150,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, an organization recognized for managing funds contributed by donors and reinvesting them for the community’s benefit. According to the press release, the funds will support essential programs designed to empower families in crisis.

Lakeisha Florence, Interim Executive Director of Providence House, expressed deep appreciation for the Foundation’s ongoing commitment: “We are incredibly thankful to the Community Foundation of North Louisiana for their continued belief in our mission. This generous grant helps ensure that families in crisis receive the tools they need to achieve independence and long-term success.”

The Community Foundation of North Louisiana has awarded Providence House more than five million dollars in grants since 1993.
