BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Police arrested a man accused of a Baton Rouge shooting that left one person hurt in March.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the shooting victim and his 14-year-old daughter were walking to their apartment when a group started to tease his daughter in the 12000 block of Newcastle Avenue on March 18. Police said a man in the group, identified as Jerry Huggins, 18, was armed and threatened to shoot. The victim was reportedly shot three times.

A Crime Stoppers tip led to Huggins’ June 2 arrest. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
